BMW Recalls over 2000 K1300 Series Sports Tourers

December 18, 2009 – 10:01 am

BMW USA have released a statement saying poor fuel quality may result in small deposits in the bike’s throttle bodies, which in turn can cause engine problems at low revs. The problem can cause the motor to stutter or stall. It’s reported the problem was discovered during quality control procedures.

The recall notice affects 936 K1300S motorcycles produced between September 11, 2008 and October 13, 2009, and 1,083 K1300GT models produced between Oct. 17, 2008 and Nov. 19, 2009. The recall only affects USA models and not UK models.

BMW issued a recall on these K1300 Series motorcycles.
