The Tennessee Senate approved a proposal today to include motorcycles under the Tennessee Lemon Law with a unanimous vote of 29-0. The measure, SB2649, is sponsored by Republican Sen. Tim Burchett of Knoxville and is excellent news for Tennessee consumers with motorcycle problems.

SB2649 and it’s companion measure, HB2551, sponsored by Republican Rep. Vince Dean of East Ridge would give owners of new motorcycles the same rights as those who have cars and trucks that don’t perform properly.

In Dean’s words, “On a car, a bent frame may just make it wobble or something. But on a motorcycle a bent frame can cause an accident very easily.”

You can read HB2551 by clicking here and SB2649 by clicking here.

When a new or used motorcycle has problems or has defective parts that pose a danger to consumers, it may be recalled by the manufacturers and officially announced by the NHTSA or other government agencies. NHTSA provides a service for consumers where you can search by make and model:

Motorcycle Recall Search

Here is another resource that allows you to see recent recalls by make and model on all motorcycles:

Motorcycle Recalls by Make and Model.

If you feel that your new or used motorcycle is defective or is causing major problems, drop us a line to discuss your problems. Not all states cover motorcycles under the lemon law, but that does not mean we can’t help. As long as the motorcycle has been in for repair under manufacturers warranty three times for the same problem or four times for the same problem in Maryland, we can file a claim under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

Bottom line: If you have a manufacturers warranty and have been in the shop repeated times for the same problem, chances are we can help. Please feel free to get in touch with us any time to discuss how we can provide free legal representation in your particular situation.

Hello and welcome to our blog about Motorcycle Lemon Law, which talks about problems and complaints with various makes and models of motorcycles. In this site we’ll discuss the Lemon Law, Motorcycle Lemon Law and consumer rights concerning the Magnuson Moss statute.

If You Are Having Problems With Your Motorcycle, You Are Not Alone!

Many consumers have been reporting problems or defects with their bikes such as defective transmission parts, but don’t often report them because they are unaware that motorcycles are covered under the lemon law.

Every State has a Lemon Law and Most Will Cover a Motorcycle

Under the Motorcycle Lemon Law you are entitled to a NEW MOTORCYCLE or REFUND where the use, value or safety has been substantially affected. Or, if your motorcycle falls outside the State Lemon Law, there is a chance that you could still seek remedy under Federal Warranty Statutes such as Magnuson Moss.

Kimmel & Silverman

Our firm has provided free lemon law help to more than 45,000 consumers – more than any other lemon law firm nationwide! If you have been having problems with a bad motorcycle or bike and would like to know whether or not a legitimate claim for recovery under the lemon law is available to you, contact us or call 1-800-LEMON-LAW (1-800-536-6652). The only thing you have to lose is your lemon motorcycle or bike!
